If Christmas joy had a home, it lived inside Em Katherine Studio this year. From the moment I finished decorating, the studio felt like a warm holiday hug. Soft gold accents glowed, flocked Christmas trees stood proudly in the corners, and beautifully wrapped presents added just the right touch of magic. It was cozy. It was calm. It was festive in the most timeless, heartfelt way. And honestly? It felt like Christmas was doing its thing in the very best way.
Fourteen beautiful families stepped into the studio to celebrate the season, and each one brought their own sparkle with them. There were first Christmases with the tiniest babies, snuggled up and looking exactly like the sweetest little gifts under the tree. There were some surprise announcements that I'll hold so dear to my heart for a long time and so many sweet giggles that live in my head rent free.
There were cookie monsters who powered through photos in exchange for a sweet treat (only the best sugar cookies by Cake Pops Chicago), siblings sharing giggles and funny teenage side-eye moments, and even a little Christmas tree decorating because, let’s be honest, I needed all the festive help I could get this year. The studio was filled with laughter, chatter, happy chaos, and that unmistakable feeling that only the holidays can bring.
But what made this season so incredibly special wasn’t just the photos. It was the conversations in between. The catching up. The stories about life lately. The hugs hello and the “we’ll see you soon!” goodbyes. Getting to spend time with friends, meet new families, and watch little ones grow year after year is truly one of my greatest joys.
I am endlessly thankful for every family who trusted me with their holiday memories. Thank you for inviting me into your traditions, for filling my studio with so much love, and for making my own holiday season brighter just by being you.
