“Hey Google! What sound does a horse make?” “Hey Google! What about a cow?” That, my friends, was the joyful anthem of Baby G’s newborn session — and honestly, I couldn’t have scripted it any better.
It was a typical morning at Katie and Kevin’s home — full of giggles, curious questions, animal noises on repeat, and yes, an impressive snack lineup curated by the one and only big sister M. And in the middle of all the cheerful chaos? Sweet, snoozy Baby G. She was cozy, calm, and completely unfazed by the stampede of moo’s, neighs, and “Hey Google!” requests bouncing off the walls. She was being passed back and forth from mom to dad, snuggled in loving arms, and never let out even the tiniest peep. It’s as if she knew: this was her family, this joyful little crew — and she was exactly where she belonged.
Meanwhile, M was absolutely stealing the show. She is spunky, spirited, and oh-so-clever which is something I've known since her newborn session and when Baby G was in mama's belly. Between bursts of laughter, snack breaks, and testing out new animal impressions, she occasionally snuck in the most heart-melting cuddles with her baby sister. And those little moments? They made my heart do cartwheels. Because even in the whirlwind of toddler energy, you could feel how deeply she adored Baby G. What I loved most about this session was that Katie and Kevin didn’t try to make it “perfect” — they let it be real. They didn’t shy away from the toddler chaos or the fact that snack bribery is sometimes the golden ticket. They embraced the phase of life they’re in — unpredictable, loud, filled with big feelings and even bigger love. And that’s exactly what made it perfect.
Watching M bounce around the house with boundless excitement while Baby G peacefully snoozed was also the clearest picture of their personalities. M is all sparkle and spice, with a laugh that fills every room. G, on the other hand, is sweetly serene, soaking in the world with curious eyes and the chubbiest little cheeks you ever did see. They’re opposites in the most wonderful way — and Katie and Kevin let them shine in exactly who they are.
These four? They’re the kind of family that makes you want to stay and soak it all in. Their love is big, effortless, and full of grace for the messy, magical moments. Katie and Kevin truly are the sweetest parents and I just love everything this session has shown me. That life doesn’t have to be perfect. Things don’t have to go according to plan, and it’s okay to live in what feels like the chaos of daily life. At the end of it all, the love you have for each other is truly all that matters. And I think that’s why baby G was so content the entire time—because she’s surrounded by warmth, joy, and so much love. Honestly, I could’ve curled up and joined her for a nap right then and there.
