There’s something extra magical about a morning wedding. Maybe it’s the light, the fresh energy, or the fact that brunch is involved (I mean, who doesn’t love breakfast?). But with Sarah and Gage, the magic came from them — their joy, their love, and their desire to spend every second of their day surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.


They walked hand in hand out of the ceremony while applause echoed through River Roast’s private event space. Sarah threw her hand — bouquet in tow — into the air with triumphant, bubbly joy, and they shared the sweetest newlywed kiss before heading off to the bridal suite. I peeked in after them, and oh my goodness — they were beaming. They couldn’t stop holding out their left hands, admiring those shiny new rings that marked the best “yes” of their lives. Stealing glances, giggling, just so happy. Moments later, their wedding party poured in with cheers and hugs, and after a quick mimosa toast (obviously!), Sarah said something that stuck with me:


“We’re wasting time in here. We need to go enjoy cocktail hour.”


She was smiling ear to ear, practically bouncing with excitement — and it wasn’t just about the drinks or the apps. It was about being with their people. So simple, but so telling of who Sarah and Gage are at their core.

Even though there were so many standout moments from the day — like Gage waiting nervously until he finally saw Sarah, the way Sarah beamed when she called him her husband for the first time, the laughter when Gage needed their officiant to slowww down those vows (relatable!), and the way they were totally game for all my wild ideas as we adventured around town from reception to after party — this quick little moment after the ceremony? It was everything.


Because it was them.
