They were sitting together in the English Garden, tucked away on a bench surrounded by blooms in every direction. It was June, so the gardens were overflowing with life. The flowers were vibrant, the trees stretched tall and green above us, and the soft warmth of summer hung in the air. It felt peaceful in the kind of way that makes you slow down without even realizing it.

There were only a handful of people wandering through the Chicago Botanic Garden that afternoon, quietly admiring the beauty around them, so for a moment it felt like Rachel and Steven had the whole place to themselves. Their own little oasis in the middle of Glencoe.

After walking through the gardens for a while, I found a bench and told them to sit close together and take a little break. Nothing overly posed. Nothing complicated. Just hold hands, cuddle close, and enjoy the moment together.

And they did exactly that.

They whispered back and forth. Shared little kisses. Smiled softly at each other like they forgot anyone else was around. And then suddenly, I heard it.

Rachel’s laugh. The kind of laugh that fills a space instantly. Bright. Contagious. Completely impossible not to smile at. In true Steven fashion, he was clearly cracking jokes under his breath because Rachel could barely hold herself together. Her laughter echoed through the garden and somehow made an already beautiful sunny day feel even brighter.

And honestly? That moment perfectly sums up their relationship.

Laughter and happiness are the soundtrack to Rachel and Steven’s love story. The entire session felt light and effortless because that’s exactly who they are together. They don’t take life too seriously. They genuinely enjoy each other. And you can tell they bring out the absolute best in one another.

They twirled through rows of trees like they were in their own little movie scene. Ran hand in hand through the rose garden. Practiced romantic lifts while Steven made sure to throw in at least one intentionally ridiculous pose just to make Rachel laugh again. Every moment with them felt playful, easy, and full of life.

That’s what I admire most about these two.

Not just how much they love each other, but how much they love spending time together. They find joy so naturally. They create fun out of ordinary moments. And they carry a kind of lightness that makes everyone around them feel happier too.

Rachel and Steven are the kind of people you want in your corner. The kind that remind you life is meant to be enjoyed. That love doesn’t always have to be serious to be meaningful. Sometimes the best relationships are the ones filled with inside jokes, loud laughter, and little moments that seem ordinary at the time but become your favorite memories later.

So let this be your reminder to be more like Rachel and Steven. Laugh loudly. Love fully. Don’t overcomplicate things. Run through the gardens. Twirl in circles. Be silly with your person. Because life is too short not to have fun while living it.

Rachel and Steven, thank you for letting me spend the evening with you and capture this beautiful season of your lives. Your joy is contagious, your love is inspiring, and your laughter truly made the gardens bloom a little brighter that day. 🤍
