We were gathered in the cozy sunroom. The soft afternoon light spilled through the windows, creating the perfect backdrop for this special day. Jenny and Mark sat close together on the couch, completely mesmerized by their tiny bundle of joy, Baby L. You could see the love radiating from them as they admired every feature of her delicate newborn self—her little button nose, the wisps of dark brown hair, those long, fluttery eyelashes, and the sweet sounds of her soft grunts and sleepy stretches. Every move she made was magic to them, and it was easy to see why. But what made this session truly special was the excitement of Baby L’s big sisters. They were absolutely over the moon to be part of the day and to have a little sister to love on. Big Sister I was doing her own thing, but every so often, she would come over and give her baby sister a soft kiss or a loving smile. And then there was Big Sister G, who had decided to be my assistant for the day. Watching her excitement was one of the sweetest things I’ve witnessed in a while.

G was so proud to be involved, and I couldn’t resist giving her my polaroid camera to snap some photos herself. She beamed with pride, eager to capture her parents and new baby sister in her own way. It was as if she’d been waiting her whole life for this moment! She even started giving directions, telling her mom and dad to look at Baby L, and then, with the most innocent excitement, she said, "Now kiss!" And when that first polaroid developed in her hands, G squealed with joy, her happiness filling the room and making us all laugh.

It was such an authentic, beautiful moment. This wasn’t about getting the perfect picture, and yet every picture was perfect because it was real. The love and joy of this family were palpable, and it reminded me of something important: the best photo sessions aren’t about matching outfits or picture-perfect poses. They’re about capturing real, genuine moments of love—exactly as they are, in the comfort of home. And that's exactly what this was. Baby L’s newborn session was a reflection of this beautiful family’s life and the love they share. It wasn’t just about documenting the arrival of a new baby, but about celebrating the joy, the connection, and the little moments that make up the story of their life together. And let me tell you, they have such a beautiful story to share. Jenny and Mark are two of the kindest people I know. They have the biggest hearts and such warm, welcoming natures. Jenny, Mark, and their girls are the type of people who are always happy to see you, so it's hard to feel anything but joy when you are around them. Especially the sweet sisters. They sing and dance like no one is watching. They smile the biggest smiles when they say hello. And they find the joy in all the tiny moments like using a polaroid camera for the first time or dressing up like their favorite princesses. This cutie family of five is simply the type of people that you want to be around. They're the type of people that you want to make genuine memories with! And as I left their home that day, my heart was full, reminded once again that the most meaningful photos are those that capture the real moments—the laughter, the chaos, the sweet embraces, and the quiet tenderness. And I felt so lucky to have been there to capture it all.

Jenny & Mark, thank you for letting me photograph your precious family. Thank you for blessing me with your loving friendship. And thank you for blessing me with the ability to be a tiny part of your family's beautiful story. I love spending time with you and your girls and am so lucky to have these precious memories with you from your session. Thank you for setting the example of how love grows and multiplies with every new addition to a family. And I simply cannot wait to continue watching your grow!
